Assistant to the Nigeria Senate Nelson Ayewoh Thursday swore in previous Imo State representative Rochas Okorocha as a congressperson.
Okorocha was rejected when other chosen legislators were introduced on Tuesday on the grounds that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not issued him an authentication of return.
Later Tuesday, INEC issued Okorocha his endorsement of come back to the Senate to speak to the Imo West Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
Preceding the issuance of his declaration of return, INEC wouldn’t recognize Okorocha’s triumph in February in light of the fact that the returning officer was made to announce the outcome under pressure.
However, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court decided that INEC has no reason not to issue Okorocha declaration of return.
Be that as it may, INEC national magistrate and head of voter training Festus Okoyereminded the court that while it decided that Okorocha’s authentication of return be issued to him,the hearing of the case is still on and deferred till June 26 at the state high court.
